Centers: Other Centers We're Working On

In addition to all of the other workstations I've described in detail we have also worked on these:
Talk About Tunes: The can is filled with discussion starters.  Some of the questions are easier than others.  Some require higher level thinking and problem solving.  I'm always looking for ways to add opportunities for meaningful learning conversations to take place in our classroom.

Music Symbol Concentration

Worksheet Workstation:  This station usually contains a simple worksheet that allows students to demonstrate one of the concepts we are learning in class like note identification, instrument families, etc...  This station is usually just for 2nd grade and up.  I'm often sitting at this workstation to help students in small groups and assess their understanding of the material.

    1. Well, it depends on the concept we are covering. I can't directly post a link here for some weird reason. I'll do a quick post with some links soon.

    2. I don't have them with me right now but here's an idea:
What is your favorite song? Why?
If you could learn to play any instrument which one would you want to learn to play? Why?
You have been selected to pick out music for a ________________ (wedding, Halloween party, funeral, parade, etc...). What song(s) would you pick?

I also included some that require students to make a choice and defend it but can't remember them off the top of my head! :-)
