When they break into groups they can change it as many times as they like. :-:Tracy Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17956326480720210937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2730939748391575394.post-54292154356883675302013-02-19T15:12:55.967-06:002013-02-19T15:12:55.967-06:00How many pipe cleaners do you give to each group a...How many pipe cleaners do you give to each group and do you color code it...like black pipe cleaners quarter notes, red 8th notes, white half, green rest, etc.?Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2730939748391575394.post-87659863812519224442013-02-16T20:33:36.168-06:002013-02-16T20:33:36.168-06:00I do. Those 8th notes are tricky! When we break into small groups some kids keep the same note the whole time while others change their each time their group claps through the rhythm. Fun! Its really easy to see who understands too!Tracy Kinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17956326480720210937noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2730939748391575394.post-27715882713936950042013-02-15T18:06:40.105-06:002013-02-15T18:06:40.105-06:00Did you have the kids manipulate the pipe cleaners...Did you have the kids manipulate the pipe cleaners into the note shapes themselves? I do something similar but with popsicles sticks and pipe cleaner circles to create ta-as. I really like your idea of having the kids create the rhythmic values themselves!
Thanks for the post!

- Steph at staytunedmusicteacher.blogspot.caSteph https://www.blogger.com/profile/03700267377810551848noreply@blogger.com
